So, at long last our ties to The Brick Road Cafe are broken and now we start a new era in our latest home.
Not afraid to show my ignorance I have to admit that it was only a few days ago that I realised that Lamphun was a seperate Province. I was a little shocked to learn that we have actually left Chiang Mai, but at the end of the day it is 30 minutes ride back to Chiang Mai, so its all cool with me.
Our new house lies about 6km out of Lamphun city, in a quiet village that I still dont actually know the name of. Still, such details are not important. The rent is just 3, 500 baht a month for this lovely 3 bedroom bungalow.
We rented the house in February to be sure we secured it and had slowly moved out stuff over from the cafe over the last 2 and a half months. This was good as it meant that when the final sale went through then the house was all ready and waiting.
100_6137 And last night we had our official ‘house warming’, with a bar-b-q in our front garden with our friends from a local childrens home, including several of the kids.

It was a good night where we steadily got through 2 packs of beer, several pounds of meat; a night where only the kids dare try my macaroni cheese or tuna salad….(couldn’t blame anyone with the tuna salad, a hurried mix of white cabbage, tomato and cucumber with 4 different varieties of curried tuna mixed in…and I’m not bothered about the lack of enthusiasm for the macaroni cheese either, cos it means I get to eat it for several days now.);100_6153 a musical night with interludes from Marc on his guitar, me on my flute, and Tyler having a bash on my Congas; a showing of Ong Bak then saw a improvised game of Muai Thai on the lawn followed by dance displays. A great night all round.
