So much for making it back to daily blogs…hmm so much on my mind.
And that’s where most of its staying for now:). All will become clear in time, or maybe not…555.
So whats happened over the last couple of weeks.
Hopefully I’ve finally given my long suffering mother a bit more peace of mind by finally getting to Lamphun Post Office and posting a letter to my UK bank and closing my account, they’ve been bugging my Mum for months.
Impressive building and very good service.
Theres a very beautifully decorated Wat next door to.
Things have settled down nicely with the teaching job. The kids appear to have got over the initial excitement of getting a farang teacher and their behaviour has improved leaps and bounds. After a week or two wondering whether I would make any headway, results are coming through, with great early improvements in their understanding and use of basic English.
I love being there, seeing what goes on. Although I’m dubious about the need for it , there is a different uniform for everyday. I’ll list them in the future. The main one that sticks out is Wednesdays being Scouts day. It’s easy for me to remember that one because the days activities often disrupt my schedule.
Two weeks ago saw another bar-b-q sunday at a local childrens home, with obligatory trip to the lake.
Here some of the kids enjoy a card game with another regular visitor, and for the life of me I can not recall her name. Sorry.
It had started off grey and we weren’t sure about the lake at that point, but luckily the sun broke through and the kids got their swim.
Last weekend saw us attend a Temple Party at Roz’s, Mums village , further down the road to Nikom. There were many fair stalls and foods stalls. With Glen, Roz and Mark, Boon and I sat for a beer or three and enjoyed the entertainment on the stage nearby. It was very well attended by the locals. Again I was a bit lax in not getting either the name of the village or the name of the Temple.
This weekend there was yet another Party at our local, Wat this time.
This was a 3 day affair.
Not as well set up as the one the previous weekend at the other village, but many more food stalls, which is often the main draw for me.
Other highlights were yesterdays ride out with Ally , and a couple of trips into Chiang Mai for general chill out and of course my favourite foot massage.
