But there are usually a good few Choppers of various makes and sizes as well as the occasional racing or off road bike. Prices range from around 5000 baht, ( usually 2 stroke or in need of repair 4 stroke), to 30,000 baht for the newer motorcys, and between 30,000 and 55,000 for a Chopper, depending on make and condition.

There is also an extensive Thai market where you will find the usual wide array of goods and fresh foods on offer.
Around the outside of the market area are many small shops and Thai cafes.

Highly recommended is the Burmese cafe, close to the motorcys, Mee Mee, which is more used to farang customers.

A little more expensive than the other outlets but it has a nice ambience and the quality and portions of the food are very good.

Here’s hoping we’re at the end of the rains now and heading into a pleasant cool season.

Family visit continued…Sunday swimming and walking street market

With the Sunday Market ahead of us we decided to stay close to home and took a 15 minute stroll down Ratchadamnoen to Thapae Gate and round the corner to The Top North Hotel where you can get a day ticket to use their pool for 100 baht.

We managed to have a good time, with the kids spending a lot of time in the pool and us adults either in with them or lounging around the pool side.

Jamie made friends with a boy called Tony , and Sophie looked like she wanted to stay in the water all day.

We were about to head home when the heavens opened , so we ended up having lunch under the shelter of the Hotel cafe, until the rain stopped and we strolled home through the beginnings of the Sunday Market.
