After a great evenings party for the kids from a local childrens home, we learned of the tragedy elsewhere in Thailand where a young girl lost her life when an aerial display went wrong.
A stark reminder of the fragility of life.
Our thoughts are with the family of the girl, the skydiver who has to live with the consequences of his accident and all those otherwise affected.
And let us not forget all those children in the world whoes lives are less fortunate, especially those in The Gaza right now enduring hell on earth whilst the world watches and does little. As I see the continuing news footage, the joy of last nights festivities turns to disgust at the lack of action to stop the slaughter of innocents.
If the governments of the world want to be free of terrorism maybe they should wake up to the fact that action such as that which is happening in Gaza, and similarly the inaction of the observing world, simply breeds a new generation with every reason to hate.
